PARTICIPATING

You can sign up here and make sure to confirm your email address. Don’t forget to click ‘Participate’ in order to receive announcements and notifications about the Challenge.

When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!

The Agorize platform is open for support and to answer any kind of questions related to the competition.

You will receive an email confirmation upon successful registration for the Hospitality Innovation Competition - Middle East.

Don’t worry! Individuals will be randomly assigned to a team. Teams will consist of one (1) high school Senior and two (2) high school Sophomores and/or Juniors.

ELIGIBILITY

Hospitality Innovation Competition - Middle East is open to participants from anywhere in the Middle East. To take part, you must:

  • Reside and attend High School in the Middle East
  • Be 16 years of age by June 2021
  • Be proficient in English as the final pitch must be presented in English
  • Commit to attending all 3 days of the event

This eligibility criteria allows you to take advantage of potential prizes.

No, we only ask that you come with an open mind. This program will teach you about the Hospitality Industry and how to develop a solid business plan. There are no pre-requisites.

DAY 1 & GROUP ASSIGNMENTS

For the Group Assignment, your team must submit an Executive Summary via PDF including problem statement, differentiation, operational availability, team profile, etc. by your region's deadline.

You are free to use any kind of technology, tools or datasets that can be found in the public domain as long as you are authorized and have valid licenses to use them.

If you participate in this challenge and submit your idea on the submission deadline, your team owns the intellectual property rights of your idea and submission.

The Judging Panel will evaluate your team’s idea and select the top teams to progress to the Mentoring Phase based on four criteria: Idea & Concept, Technical Depth & Analysis, Marketing & Project Launch, and Feasibility.

 
 

MENTORING PHASE

The announcement of the top 5 teams will be made on April 10th, 2021.

If selected to receive a mentor, you will be mentored by an EHL Alumni.

Nothing, Mentors are assigned to the Top 5 teams.

FINALS

The final teams who will progress to the Finals will be announced at the conclusion of Day 2.

As well as winning the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Prize, you can also win the People’s Choice Award (announced at the Finale).

After Day 2, your mentors will support and help you to refine your pitch.

There will be no deliverables to submit. Groups will deliver their “pitch” at the finals.

Each team will have the chance to pitch their Hospitality concept in a 10-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the jury made up EHL Alumni. Once the jury panel arrives at a consensus, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place winners are announced, including the People’s Choice Award, live and on social media.

Similar to the judging criteria for Executive Summary submission, the rubrics are Idea & Concept, Technical Depth & Analysis, Marketing/Project Launch, Feasibility.
